So, here's my opinion. The Bucks have brought in some fantastic recruits with more in the pipeline...but it's not good enough. This roster, as currently constituted, has several wt classes where the presumptive starter isn't likely to be a guy who can be in the high AA conversation. At the same time, there are a handful of programs that have added enough talent to surpass the Bucks next season.
Ferrari is the counter punch the Bucks need to consider throwing. Bring him in. See what he says. And, if you are willing to take the risk, you add a title contender to Feldman, Welsh, Mendez, Rogotzke, Bouzakis and Kilkeary.
And if you can't bring him in, if the baggage is too heavy, find someone else. But the Bucks are not keeping pace if they don't bring in someone who can have an instant impact.

A view from someone with zero skin in the game.
While I understand what Hank is saying, I do not agree.
Over the many years I have been on the mat (with the best seat in the house) I have watched a number of guys who were a complete cancer in the clubhouse. One that comes immediately to mind wrestled for Albert DiGiovanni at Orange. The kid was a real talent and I mentioned to Albert that I would bet he was going to miss him the next year when he graduated. His response was, not as much as you might think.
Ferrari seems to be one of those guys.
We have no idea what he is like behind closed doors but he has been in trouble with the law enough that it would not be worth the risk to me.

I'm with Jim here.
I don't want to relitigate his history, as I think we've already done that here in the past. But suffice it to say that I think this would be detrimental to the team, and I simply don't want to root for him.
I understand the overarching point that the Bucks should explore all avenues to improve the team--just not this one.

After Ferrari's post match antics after his match with Glazier I don't think TR would want him on this team. Tom puts a lot of emphasis on character and Ferrari would not fit here. Remember after Echemendia was charged with domestic violence he was off the team, I just can't imagine they would want Ferrari either, no matter how good a wrestler he was.

I’m truly surprised that anyone would want this guy on their team…particularly if you’re a real fan of the team and have been tuned in to them for years the way most on this site are with tOSU. How can you follow THIS TEAM and think that THIS GUY would be a good fit?
Thats an honest question.

Hard pass.
I remember hearing back when he was a senior in high school that he had a visit to tOSU and that after it, the team got together and said they didn't want him on the team. As a result the coaches either pulled his offer or did not make an offer. I don't know for sure that that's true, but it's what I heard at the time, and from everything we've seen since then, that was a good call by the wrestlers and coaches.

Yes Ben you are correct. Ohio State moved on from him in high school. There is zero percent chance they would take him now. If Iowa is passing on him Tom Ryan is passing on him. Ferrari is the type of recruit you will lose culture and even teammates and recruits . Iowa lost chittum because of the Ferraris.
Tom changed his recruiting strategies about 6-7 years ago. He was getting burned by too many questionable recruits when it come to culture, work ethic, too much college fun kind of recruits. Tony Jameson, Jaden mattox, John Weasley, cam tessari, Jose Rodriquez just a few that come to mind. Some of these kids made big turnarounds and ended up very successful but early in their life werent making the right decisions. Tom stopped recruiting on results only and made sure the kids had all the other intangibles and fit in with team culture.
Ferrari I do hope finishes his career and I would love to see him battle Starrocci. I actually like Ferrari more than Starroci, so I wouldn’t mind him stopping him for number five. Ferrari gave up maybe one or two takedowns his entire true freshman season. His work ethic is extremely high. If he comes back to form he could definitely challenge for a title. I like to see kids get second chances and succeed. It just won’t be at Ohio state. Iowa state I thought for sure until they got Caroll. Maybe a Rutgers??? Anyway someone will get a chance at him and he shouldnt cost too much bc there just isn’t much interest in his baggage.

Northern Colorado is his first visit. Him and allirez both could be finalist.

I don't think this is a possibility because of the cognitive dissonance that would be inferred between Coach Ryan's well documented, repeatedly articulated values and Ferrari's well documented, repeatedly exercised actions.
Coach Ryan wants to win...but not at the expense of his reputation.

Nick…Please correct me if I’m wrong, I assume you don’t know either of them personally? What makes you dislike Starroci more. From the outside looking in, one looks like he’s immature, classless and runs his mouth in a “look at me” sort of way while the other does that same bullshit but adds in the fact that he’s a team killer and there’s a little sexual assault thrown in.

Ferrari at least tries to act more mature on social media. Yea he likes to flex and show off his physique but Starrocci is just plane immature. He called out Burroughs and then didn’t make weight bc his d*** got too big. Said Taylor can wipe his ass with that money bc he took a job opportunity of a lifetime. Said he was quitting the Penn state team when Cael didn’t let him wrestle big tens. I just want someone to stop him from number five. No one should even be winning 5. Trimble or Ferrari are the only two that probably can.

Everyone’s got the right to their own opinions. I agree that those things you’re quoting about Starroci are immature and generally shitty. But I’m pretty sure Ferrari has said just as much stuff and then some. Hell, the video of him doing the splits while flicking off HIS fans and HIS teammates seems just as bad as anything Starroci has done. But hey, I’m wrong a lot.
For the record, I think they’re both phenomenal talents and I’m not a particular fan of either.
