So I watched a Tom Ryan interview today and he explained the Nil budget that Ohio state currently has. A common misconception is that the football money can help out the wrestling team but it does not. The money is fundraised through the ortc. Currently Ohio state has an annual budget of 2 million which gets split between Nil and the members of the ORTC.

The Ohio regional training center currently has three athletes. Hemida who wrestles for Egypt, Dhesi a Canadian Olympian, and Kollin Moore. I can’t imagaine a big chunk goes to the out of country wrestlers who have no Ohio state affiliation. Kollin Moore is also probably towards the end of his career I would guess, to free up more money if he does. They probably have to pay Logan Stieber some of that money as he only makes 35k through the university and the next lowest coach is Bo Jordan making 107k. Dustin Meyers the strength and conditioning coach also has to get something.

2 million is probably a bigger budget still than almost anyone other than Penn State, Iowa, Michigan , and Oklahoma state. I can not even imagine what Penn states budget is. Snyder, nolf, Retherford, brooks, Taylor last year, Dake, Starroci, Gilman last year, Messenbrink, Haines, kirkvliet, bartlett, and don’t forget about the huge incoming freshman class.

Anyway to help get Bassett and Blaze please donate at Ohiortc.com. They will need it haha.

Since 2015 the numbers across all major programs have grown significantly. Ohio state used to get 200k a year and is now at 2 million a year. Nil has really caused all these programs to raise much more money.

They are using other creative ways to make money also.
