Taylor just never got going and Sadulaev seemed to know what to expect. Sadulaev utilizing a simple butt drag (3 times!) while pushing Taylor's head down was amazing to witness. As incredible as Taylor is, Sadulaev's defense is incomparable. He made Taylor look ordinary.

It's more than a difficult task to get to Sadulaev's legs and once there maybe an even more difficult task of finishing.
For Taylor to beat Sadulaev, probably no to coaching a major program and a better strategic game and some new skills from the mat. He spent a lot of time on his knees which is advantage Sadulaev. I'm fairly comfortable saying that no one was able to emulate that type of countering in his preparation.

Sadulaev looked like... the Russian Tank.
Reminded me of Taylor's early matches with Yazdani, where Yazdani would get up early but Taylor would keep pressing and eventually break him for a win. Seemed like perhaps that was the strategy here too--and going in I thought Taylor might have a significant advantage being first match off the scale and Sadulaev coming down in weight from 97 kg.
Sadulaev never wore down, though, and the dominance was impressive.

Nice job by Taylor to bounceback for bronze over another former world champ.
Same for Arujau.
