Current record is 4-2.
W vs. Wisconsin 25-14
L vs. Michigan State 22-19
L vs. Drexel 26-16
W vs. Bloomsburg 45-0
W vs. Gardner Webb 26-15
W vs. CSU 24-14
As last year, the team is basically a tale of two rosters. 125-141 have continued to be a struggle while 49-285 is solid and very competitive. To note - have a ton of respect for all these kids and they're laying it on the line, just struggle in the lower weights.
For the roster, two multi-year starters are redshirting to get healthy; Zayne Lehman and Sal Perrine. Both were NQs so big shoes to fill.
125: Ryan Meek (SO) is the starter, currently is 3-9.
133: Several people have started and all have struggled.
141: Kaden Jett (RSFR) has emerged as the starter and is currently 3-4. If he can provide stability at this weight it would really help.
149: Derek Raike (RS SO) is the starter and is currently 8-4. He is a ton of fun to watch, but is a roller coaster. Several times in his career he's been up in matches and lost late. At his best I beleive he's a top-30 competitor.
157: Returning AA Peyten Kellar (JR) is currently 10-2. Had a couple losses at CKLV and the rankers punished him. Has been out recently, not sure why. Hopefully back soon.
165: Jack Lledo (RSFR) is the starter and has struggled. Currently 3-11.
174: Garret Thompson (JR) moved up to 174 and has had a great year. What a competitor. Is currently 17-3 with several ranked wins. I believe he's ranked 8th by InterMat.
184: Jeremy Olszko (RSFR) is starting and wrestling well. Currently 11-5 and has been a great addition to the line up with Lehman on RS.
197: Austin Starr (SO) is 8-8. Interesting to watch, he can look great for 2 periods then struggle. More consistency and he would be very good.
285: Jordan Greer (SR), returning NQ and currently ranked 26th. 10-3 record. Fun to watch. Good offense from neutral and a good rider.
Of note, Logan Cravatas (I think from Medina Buckeye) has filled in often at 49/57 and is 10-5. He's done well and can be a solid starter in the future.
OU wrestled in the Mid-Major college duals this weekend, a very fun event. If they can limit the damage at the lower weights, they are a solid dual team.
Since it's an Ohio team, here is the box score vs. CSU. A fun dual.
125: Ben Aranda (Cleveland State) def. Ryan Meek (Ohio), Dec. 7-3
133: Nick Molchak (Cleveland State) def. T.J. England (Ohio), Dec. 6-3
141: Kaden Jett (Ohio) def. Laden Duncan (Cleveland State), Dec. 2-1
149: Derek Raike (Ohio) def. Connor Saylor (Cleveland State), Fall, 1:09
157: Douglas Terry (Cleveland State) def. Logan Cravatas (Ohio), MD 11-2
165: Tate Geiser (Cleveland State) def. Jack Lledo (Ohio), MD 11-1
174: Garrett Thompson (Ohio) def. Ronald Dimmering (Cleveland State), TF 17-1 (6:07)
184: Jeremy Olszko (Ohio) def. JR Reed (Cleveland State), MD 11-2
197: Austin Starr (Ohio) def. Joey Lyons (Cleveland State), Dec. 11-4
285: Jordan Greer (Ohio) def. Daniel Bucknavich (Cleveland State), Dec. 7-3

Raike is good but needs to be more consistent. Greer is a top 25 talent at 285. Kellar and Thompson are excellent. Kellar is being punished for a sub par CKLV. If he wrestled for a bigger name program and had been a highly ranked recruit, he'd be viewed differently.
If OU can be healthy at end of season, they could have 4-5 NQ's and a couple AA's. Big ifs.
