This is great news. He's a Junior? In today's environment it feels like it's still 50/50 if this kid will wrestle for the bucks, and even less than that he finishes a Buckeye...strange times. Remember when we would do 3 and 4 yr lineup projections?

Class of 2027 forming into a real solid class with Deraker, Muneretto, and Waters. Looks like a traditional Buckeye recruiting class. Still need some guys 149-184

First you have to land them....then you see if they perform....if they perform you have to pay them or someone else will.

Is Waters still in?

He’s in but reportedly still shopping around $$$$$. Good news is Penn state and Iowa will not be looking as 197 is secured for a while there. Oklahoma state is the only real one that worries me.

Beware Michigan. They have money to spend

Think that will depend how well Walter’s does for Michigan. He was top 3 220 coming out but was injured last year and didn’t wrestle. If he performs well they might not want to tie money up into 2 weights. Along way off so guess we will find out.

If I had worked my butt off as a wrestler and was in a position to attend a top program, and there was a chance I could land half a million bucks, I'd go for the money. The only saving grace for most of the programs is that only a handful have cash to throw around.

And, of course, I'm speculating. I don't have hard knowledge of any program's finances.

That’s Stiles.
This is Munaretto, a lightweight.

Munaretto will start as a 125 and maybe work up as a 133 later on.
Sorry I was talking about stiles 149.

The Raney brothers are said to be down to Iowa and Ohio State. My prediction is Iowa because money is increasingly winning out in NIL era recruiting battles.

But if the Bucks prevail, they’ll have a very good case for the top class in 2026. With the Raneys and Waters, they’d have three top 10 prospects plus Munaretto and Dekraker, who are top 20.

That would be a huge boost in momentum after losing on out Blaze, Bassett and Forrest.

My two cents on Manuretto being from Illinois.

He seems freakishly strong and works almost exclusively from an underhook. My initial thought was that his style drives freestyle/international success more than folk/college, although he is excellent in all styles.

He lost last year to Nick Garcia, who just verballed to Illinois. To me, Garcia is the opposite. He is a grind it out, shoot singles, rugged on top type that projects better to folkstyle.

My very slight hesitation on Manuretto is when he can't over power an opponent, which he will be able to do less in college, how will he score. But this is very knit-picky because he destroys most everyone from the underhook.

Looking at his Ironman results, he lost handily to Dickman from Brownsburg, IN, and beat Burnett in OT 2-1. I've been on record saying the Bucks should be in on Burnett but was told he wasn't nationally good on this site! :)

Manuretto also looks like a career 25 to me. I can't imagine he was cutting at all this year as he dominated everyone in IL.

I assume he has Olympic aspirations as he's been excellent on the world stage so the RTC development will be critical.

He wrestles a fun style and piles up points. Exciting get for Ohio State! Excited to watch him wrestle in scarlet and gray.
