The Jr.'s "A" team placed 2nd in freestyle and 3rd in Greco. Best finishes in our state's young history for girls wrestling.
16U finished 5th in both styles.
The improvement in the girls has been astounding -- and this weekend they were gritty and battled hard each match.
So much fun to be a part of this program!!
O-H!

These dual teams really showed out, it was exciting to watch. So many young hammers.
We had several of our graduated senior stars out with injury or just sitting it out (finances have to play a legitimate role with college two months away).
My niece sent me a video of a 5th place state match from 2022...it looked like 25 years ago in technique. The levels have really leaped forward, fast. I assume this is based on a couple things:
1) the higher level techniques already exist, and coaches to teach these techniques. So the girls had to just progress to them.
2) Each year, the stud freshmen are better than the graduating seniors. They've been mat rats longer. There's also not the "man strength" discrepancy that exists between 9th grade males and 12th grade males.
3) More opportunity for high level matches every year. Forging in fire.
Looking forward to Fargo and how our girls compete.
