Same. Someone who has been through his experiences is likely to have been impacted. I'm a huge Sam Sasso fan and am confident he'll come out of this a better person

Looks like Chael Sonnen's question about how Sammy got shot wasn't so impertinent after all!

Well one way to look at this is in Ohio non of this would have been illegal unless Sammy failed a sobriety test.

Is that good or bad?

if I was Sammy's father I would be more worried about the weapons then about the pot. I also know that young men have a preoccupation with weapons and owning them. I have never been shot in the stomach but I can imagine he deals with pain on a daily basis and pot has been shown to be effective pain reliever All that said it is kind of crazy that neighboring states have such a deviance in laws

I think Sammy has trained arduously for well over a decade to become a world class athlete. Prior to being shot, he displayed the type of skill necessary to become a future world champion and Olympic medalist. Suddenly it's over. All those years of hard work, discipline and dedication have not led to the ultimate goal of becoming the best in the world. It's a lot to process. Add in the physical and mental challenges that go along with being a victim of gun violence, and it's not surpising that Sam was probably self medicating and making some iffy decisions. I think all these guys (Kyle Snyder comes to mind) sometimes have to let off steam due to the immense pressure they place upon themselves. How they choose to do it is the question. I have nothing but respect for Sam and would never judge him based upon this incident. I am his fan and will remain so for the foreseeable future.

Agree with this part Hank. Unfortunately Sammy made poor decisions that prevented him from meeting his goals and the blame lies with him. It's tragic but a lesson one hopes others close to him will learn from.

I won’t give him a pass on committing crimes, though I have understanding of why he might be in that spot., given that was shot in his car. He needs to account for what he supposedly did.
But while I wouldn’t face off with a car jacker, I’m not blaming him for not meeting his goals because he was trying to stop someone from car jacking him. I’m also not confident of exactly how that went down.

Do we know this was truly just a random car jacking? Seems Sasso isn't exactly a saint and could be more to that story.
