So far the US has medaled at every weight with the exception of one, where Okie State super recruit, Ladarian Lockett took took fifth. Penn State went five for five on medals….so that’s awesome for them. Marcus Blaze will wrestle for a title tomorrow. P.J. Duke took home U20 gold and will have the incredible possibility of winning a second title at the senior level here in a couple of weeks. Lehighs Luke Stanich also took home a world title at 65kg.
A couple of thoughts. If we thought Penn State was dominant before wait until all of this next crop is in rotation. I don’t recall previous interventional teams being wholly represented and high performing from just one university like this. Second thought, Jesse Mendes may be going for his third title but Luke Stanich, and potentially Marcus Blaze are not going to make it easy.

I listened to a Flo video and they projected Blaze at 133, Stanich too I thought. We'll see where those two end up.

The level of wrestling these young guys are at is incredible.
Intelligent coaching has finally made it possible to get the right sustained and consistent development of wrestlers in the US.
USA is going to win team level World and Olympic Championships for years to come. The old model is broke and the new paradigm is in effect.
Couple American conditioning with the best takedown attacks in the world, BOOM.
Also, I have an IG account in which I post highlights and some commentary, rexholmanwrestler.

I don't see either of them at 133. Both of their teams are better with them at 141, or even 149 in Stanich's case.

Marcus has mentioned he is 133.
News is supposed to come out about Stanich and guess is it’s his weight for next year. He isn’t going 133 unless Croakhm moves up. Jesse MD him last year 14-4 and assume Jesse has also gotten better.

Not to mention, Jesse came close to making the Sr. World team, losing to world team member Woods 11-9.

It was actually all but two weights, since Knox didn't medal either. But in any case, it was a heck of a team performance.

Gotcha. Who's going to wrestle 141 for them? Davis or Ono?

Maybe Nagao moves up if he still has eligibility?

What a disaster move for Nagao to go to PSU.

Agreed. He could have possibly been a 3x AA already had he stayed at Minnesota.

To be fair he has faced injuries . Also, Jesse only beat Stanich (in freestyle) 3-1. Contract that with an early season competition last year at an open. The gap is closing.
