Ohio State (2nd) v. Little Rock (14th)
125 – Nic Bouzakis – 5th v Jeremiah Reno – I would actually expect to see McCrone here, and I think McCrone gets a pin here.
133 – Ben Davino – 2nd v Dillon Cooper – Davino gets a tech.
141 – Jesse Mendez – 1st v Brennan Van Hoecke – Jesse gets a tech.
149 – Ethan Stiles – 5th v Brock Herman - 30th – This is a referendum on the OSU decision to bring in Stiles. Herman is going to be extra motivated here. I think Stiles gets a decision, but it is going to be close.
157 – Brandon Cannon – 5th v Jaivon Jones – 20th – Cannon gets a major, maybe a tech.
165 – Paddy Gallagher – 12th v Matt Bianchi – 6th – This is a toss up, and with the luck that Paddy seems to have lately, I think Bianchi gets the decision.
174 – Carson Kharchla – 6th v Gunner Holland – I might wrestle Birden here. If it’s Kharchla, I think he gets a tech. If Birden, I will give Birden a 5-3 decision.
184 – Dylan Fishback – 6th v Brock DelSignore – 23rd – Fishback gets the decision, maybe a major.
197 – Luke Geog – 9th v Stephen Little – 2nd – With the troubles we’ve seen Geog have with conditioning in the 3rd period, I think Little gets the late major.
285 – Nick Feldman – 2nd v Kaden Darwin – I might forfeit here, or wrestle Seth Shumate up or something. Give Feldman a break before Yonger.
Ohio State should win easily and I might give some backups a match and rest some starters before the main event.

Ohio State – 2nd v. Iowa State – 4th
125 – Nic Bouzakis – 5th v. Steve Poulin – 12th – I think Bouzakis gets a decision here, but this is a toss up.
133 – Ben Davino – 2nd v. Evan Frost – 3rd – What a matchup! Both of these guys beat Ayala by 6 points. I favor Davino, I think he’s a little more consistent, but another toss up.
141 – Jesse Mendez – 1st v. Anthony Echemendia – 4th – Mendez is on a Hodge mission this year, and I think he gets a major.
149 – Ethan Stiles – 5th v. Jacob Frost – 7th – Stiles had a big win against NC State, and I think he carries that momentum, and the momentum from Mendez, into a decision.
157 – Brandon Cannon – 5th v Vincent Zerban – 3rd – Zerban leads the series 1-0, but Cannon is wrestling at a different level right now. I favor Cannon, but this is another toss up.
165 – Paddy Gallagher – 12th v. Connor Euton – 21st – This is one Paddy HAS to win. I think he pulls out a big takedown late to secure the dub.
174 – Carson Kharchla – 6th v. MJ Gaitan – 12th – I think Carson gets the decision here, and I think he pushes for a major late and just misses.
184 – Dylan Fishback – 6th v. Isaac Dean – 13th – Another one OSU HAS to have if they want to win this match. I think Fishback is up 4-5 late and whether or not he gets a late takedown determines decision v. major.
197 – Luke Geog – 9th v. Rocky Elam – 1st – Major or tech for Elam. I don’t think this will be close.
285 – Nick Feldman – 2nd v. Yonger Bastida – 1st – Bastida is definitely the favorite. Hopefully OSU has enough cushion that this is just a great way to end the dual.
I see 3 favorites (Mendez, Elam and Bastida) and 7 swing matches. I think OSU should win 4-5 of those, but if they have a let down performance, and Iowa State wrestles like they did against Iowa, this could go the other way.

Anthony Echemendia might be the 2nd best wrestler at the weight. He's incredibly strong and very hard to score on. Jesse beats him every time as long as he's near his best. But points will always be hard to come by. Don't expect bonus
The Iowa state dual is simple. You have to be up by 10 heading into 197. Elam and Bastida are studs. Tough match for the team. Good test.
I think PSU, Okie State, Iowa State and tOSU have separated themselves at this point in the season from everyone else.
But, as M-Rod likes to say, "I'm wrong a lot."

My guess is kilkeary is wrestling against Little Rock. He is quietly having a pretty good season winning two opens. This will allow Bouzakis to be fully recovered for the Iowa state match. No need for Mccrone to make weight all three of them can beat Little Rock’s 125.
Shaw can wrestle so many events before burning a redshirt. No need to waste one here.
Iowa state Ohio state prediction
125 Bouzakis dec OSU 3-0
133 Davino dec OSU 6-0
141 Mendez dec OSU 9-0
149 frost Dec OSU 9-3
157 zerben dec OSU 9-6
165 paddy Dec OSU 12-6
174 Carson Dec OSU 15-6
184 fishback Dec OSU 18-6
197 Elam md OSU 18-10
285 bastida dec 18-13.
Really want to see cannon win here. Shows he’s a national title contender with this win. Lost 11-6 at nationals to him last year.
Stiles results are hard to predict. He can probably be 50/50 with most guys in the top 15.
Bouzakis is always a danger to pin or put someone on his back. A full strength Bouzakis could be looking for bonus points.
Bastida and Trumble are going to be very hard for Feldman to ever beat.
Echemendia wrestles Jesse close enough where i don’t expect bonus.
This should be an extremely close dual and we do not want it to come down to heavy.

Buckeyes win both duals.
Dual vs Iowa State was entertaining.
Stiles is a fantastic scrambler ... but give the top fellas that many times in on your legs and it's bound to bite ya.
Paddy just seems, well, off.
Younger dominated Feldman. Feldman could win the NCAA's but I believe he needs guys he can beat to beat the couple he struggles tremendously with.
...and seeing that Vega pinned Brock Hardy today, I'm really looking forward to seeing Vega wrestle Echimendia and Mendez.

The good….
Anytime you win a dual against the number three team in the country, it’s a good day. The dual was never even in question. Outside of PSU, Ohio State has as much light weight fire power as anyone. Teams are down by a lot before they can even look up. The handling of Bousakis’ weight management seems to be on point. If he ends up the starter it likely goes without saying that he will be better off the scale in a tournament setting with a high seed. The Big Ten dual season will be the next weight test. Can he perform right away off the scale. There are no other two day weight making opportunities until Big Tens. That will be another challenge. A lot of good this weekend, with some average performances as well. Solid end to 2025!
