"Ayala HEW?"

Iowa in general has run it's course. They have plenty of money to spend but are not getting a bang for their buck. As talented as Angelo Ferrari is, he doesn't look an ounce better than he was last season. I have no idea who the replacement will be but Tom Brands best days appear to be behind him.
Of course I thought the same about Tom Ryan and look at this season.

I agree that Iowa's performance hasn't necessarily matched their talent or NIL spending, but Fugitt took 4th last year, so not a terrible loss. Ayala is 4-4, which doesn't look good on paper, but those 4 losses were all to All-Americans or Davino. My prediction is Ayala will still be a low AA in the gauntlet that is 133 this year.

I am looking forward to the Iowa/PSU match on Fri. But Endene, Arnold, Peterson and Bailey have not been in the latest lineup for Iowa, are they being given a rest or are they dinged up? They will need all their top guys to tackle Penn State.

125, 165, 174, 184 and 285 are intriguing but the rest is all PSU. Welsh looks more offensive now so his match with Ferrari is the best match up on paper. I see Iowa favored in two matches--184 and 285. And I really think 184 is a pick em.

Edene is no longer on the roster and has moved on.

I see where Brands said "things just didn't work out", but did not elaborate. Why not, who knows? He was ranked #4 at 197.

Reports he has a neck injury and his wife just had a baby. Maybe thinking it’s not worth it anymore and walked away.
