If there was any doubt about their preferred sport, there shouldn’t be now. From a football standpoint, though, this seems a little odd.

Massillon Washington has 25 state football championships. I’m sure they are paying $$$$. They do not want to wrestle Boyle again. It wouldn’t be close. They also picked up a big prospect from Euclid in the high school portal. There are may reasons for this decision. The older one was already done wrestling and the younger one only did it minimally and had no chance next year against Boyle.

He had better than "no" chance. I'd say it was like 1.2% chance.

I get what you mean about Massillon being a football powerhouse, but let's not get carried away. They have won one OHSAA championship since the playoff system began in 1972. Their other 24 "state championships" were based on sports writers' polls. They need to get past the Big Walnut Eagles first! I agree that if Feister wants to win a state title next year, he will need to be in a different weight class or division than Michael Boyle. Hopefully, we can see this match during the regular season. Boyle will score bonus points.

Significant rumors that this was not entirely voluntary.
