Jantzen at 163??? this seems way heavy for him.

He won a qualifying tournament at that weight, and has not at 145.5, so now he is stuck at 163 if he wants to go through the trials.

Who gets the "skip" all the way to the ultimate qualification match? I've seen anywhere from three to five people with that right.

I think possible skips might be: Gallick (if he qualifies the weight), Schwab, Lawal, Cormier, and Rowlands.

Those wrestlers would have a significant advantage - especially Schwab as 145.5 is such a stacked weight in the USA. The "skip" is least of a factor for Cormier, as he happens to lead the weakest weight of the seven in the USA (if you ask me).

The following is the criteria for the automatic bye;

- Top ten finish at the 2005, 2006, or 2007 Senior World Championships
- 2005 University World Games Medalist
- 2005, 2006, or 2007 Junior World Games Medalist
- Multiple time World Team member

Based on that, the automatic advancements go to Rowlands (5th at worlds last year), Schwab (5th at worlds last year), Cormier (multiple time world teamer), and Lawal (multiple time world teamer). Both Zadick's would fall under the first criteria, but neither won Nationals, so I don't think they get byes. I have to imagine that if Gallick qualifies the weight, he will get a waiver.
