This will be a clinic that you don't want to miss. McIlravy is widely regarded as one of the most dominating and entertaining Iowa wrestlers ever. He has many skills that he will be showing, including his signature, "boot scoot". 5 hours of instruction from McIlravy and 1 from Marinelli for a $50 value...that includes a subway lunch and camp t-shirt!

Just as a point of interest, the year Alan Fried was forced to sit out the NCAA tourney due to Okie State's probation (1993?), the national champ at 142 lbs was Lincoln McIlravy. Had Fried been allowed to compete in the tourney, it's likely they would have met in the finals. The wrestler McIlravy defeated in the finals was Gerry Abas from Fresno State. I believe he defeated him by one point. Fried won his only NCAA title the following year by beating Abas 15-6 in the finals. Doesn't prove who would have won by the way--it's just interesting to compare.
McIlravy was one of the greatest competitors of his generation. He was an offensive machine. I recommend going to youtube and searching for his matches. I'll bet there are plenty of great ones. Flowrestling could have some good stuff of his as well. If I lived near this clinic, I'd attend even if I was just a fan of the sport.

Does he still have the mullet? That alone would be worth going to see.

<thumbsup> Great clinic today with Lincoln though there were so many kids my son said he couldn't always see what was being demonstated. That is too bad because he does some FUNKY stuff that made those close to his demonstration gasp and drool! He is quite the storyteller and really funny! I don't know what his present job is, but i hope he is teaching somewhere. Thanks to the Lebanon coach and otheres for arranging the clinic. It was a drive from Columbus, but was worth it and the price was great!

Great turnout and great clinic at Lebanon High School. Lincoln showed some really great stuff and had a funny story for everything he showed. He is now in the hotel business in Cedar Rapids, and owns a few of them. His speech after the video presentation was very good also!
Thanks to Lincoln and everyone who came out!

Do you know of anyone who taped Lincoln's clinic and could make a CD or tape of his moves? There were some great moves, but my son has already forgotten most of them or needs some slow motion reinactment to be able to practice them.
