THREE LONGHORNS TO WRESTLE IN COLLEGE

Coming off of one of the best seasons in the 39-year history of wrestling at Lutheran West High School, three of the grapplers will continue their wrestling careers in college. Ian Prah , a district qualifier at heavyweight for the Longhorns signed a letter of intent to wrestle for Thiel College. Prah will major in Biology and received a scholarship to attend Thiel. Thiel graduates three wrestlers at heavyweight so Prah may see varsity action for Coach Craig Thurber next season.

Three-time PAC-10 Conference Champion and three-time district qualifier Eric Bednash has signed a letter of intent to wrestle for Concordia University-Wisconsin. Bednash compiled 108 career wins (2nd all-time) as a Longhorn and looks to compete at the 133lb weight class for Coach Bret Corner. Bednash will major in Secondary Education and received the Regent scholarship from Concordia.

After receiving interest from Heidelberg, Mount Union and Eastern Michigan, three-time state qualifier Colin Dennis has decided to continue his wrestling career at the University of Findlay. Dennis a two time state placer, holds the school record for most pins in a season (33) and was a two-time PAC-10 Champion. Dennis was a Greater Cleveland Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association All-Star and received the Milkovich award from the organization for sportsmanship. Dennis is undecided on a major and he looks to wrestle at either the 125 or 133 lb weight class for Coach Shawn Nelson.

Longhorn wrestling coach Dave Ressler stated, “I am very proud of this senior class. I’m excited to see that three of them will continue their wrestling careers at the college level.”

Thanks Hank. My coaching staff has done a tremendous job helping these guys do so well. I have to give a lot of credit to those coaches: DJ. Vondruska and volunteers: Don Vondruska, Andy Morales, Ken Sanger Sr., Harry Dennis and Jeff Vasiloff. Hopefully soon we'll be able to get one recruited to wrestle at The Ohio State University. <sign_oh>
